HydroKon Hydrogen meter
The MINKON HydroKon hydrogen measuring devices enable precise and immediate process monitoring of the dissolved hydrogen content in molten steel. An increased hydrogen content can significantly impair the mechanical properties of the steel and lead to critical material defects. The matching HydroKon probes provide instantaneous measurement results directly from the melt, allowing steel manufacturers to analyze the hydrogen content in real time and make appropriate process adjustments.

Executions
The associated hardware (lances, hoses, internal lines, filters) and all device and lance connections are fully compatible with common systems. Thanks to their manufacture from high-quality, durable materials, the HydroKon measuring devices guarantee a long service life and high reliability, even under extreme operating conditions.
Measuring principles of the MINKON HydroKon measuring devices
Closed loop (CL):
In this method, the carrier gas is continuously circulated to create a stable equilibrium of the hydrogen content within the closed system. This equilibrium enables a highly precise determination of the hydrogen content in the liquid steel using Sievert equilibrium measurement.
Open circuit (OP):
In contrast to the closed circuit, the equilibrium is formed directly in the measuring probe, without a circulating system. This method is particularly suitable for high-alloy or titanium-alloy steels.
